Grace & Mercy

Two simple items today...

Grace: Our latest quarterly newsletter is out. For those of you who follow us a bit online there's probably not a whole lot of truly new info, but you may well enjoy a summary glimpse. And that glimpse is of grace. Sometimes when writing blogs, newsletters, etc., it's rather difficult not to feel odd about plastering your life and "achievements" for all to see. Truly, everything related to ministry is by grace alone. Grace in the face of great needs, grace in the harvesting of fruit. (Accompanying picture is part of that fruit, a brother in Christ seeking more of the word to be manifest in his and his family's life. Read the newsletter for his role in our ministry...)

Mercy: Linked here is an article about a terrible crash on the train from Yaoundé (our city here) to Douala (the largest in Cameroon.) Close to 60 dead, 575 injured. Such a horrible grief! It also happens that this train is the one Heidi took in March and our whole family took in May (each time for an MRI at the hospital there.) Only by the mercy of God do any of us live and breathe, and this has just provided a sobering reminder of that truth.
