Buwal is the Latest

A few doors down from Heidi and me live Michael & Melanie V. and their son Aaron (a friend of Gabe's.) Since 2004 (until this past year) they had been living in the extreme north of Cameroon working in the Buwal language community.

Recently Michael and Melanie saw a special fruit of their linguistic work--the first book of the Bible ever translated into Buwal was printed. The accompanying picture shows Michael holding that printing, the Gospel of Luke.

At this point, Wycliffe/SIL does not permit missionary travel in the far north (Boko Haram incursions.) Nonetheless, even from 700 miles away, Michael and Melanie are rejoicing at this first step in a new people group enabled to read God's word in their own language. Heidi and I too rejoice in our tiny little part in this work of the Lord: I teach Aaron in Science 9 at RFIS.
